The Painting honeycombs shawl by Stephen West is a very decorative shawl that can be knitted using our gradients. Fingering weight yarns are used in this pattern.

We offer you two versions:

1. the background is knitted with the gradient, the frame is knitted with semisolid (as in the original pattern)
2. the background is knitted with semisolids and the frame is knitted with a gradient

Kit nr. 4 contains
04 LŐRINC (grey-yellow) as the gradient colorway and black as the semisolid (or the other way around if you opt for version 2.)

I made a drawing so that it is easier to imagine how the shawl will look like but please treat it just as a drawing 🙂

Depending on the yarn base, the kits contain different quantities of yarn. For the frame, the pattern calls for 384 meters so in theory a 400m-skein should be enough. But just in case you want to be on the safe side, with yarn bases that have 400m/100g yarn weight, we offer you to choose from kits that contain one or two skeins/balls for the frame.

I try to take accurate photos but please keep in mind that monitors vary.

I use professional acid dyes and rinse all the yarns several times but some weak bleeding may occur when washing for the first few times.
